Michael has been a mainstay of the banknote world since the 1970s. Initially a member of the Stanley Gibbons numismatic department, he then became an independent dealer. At this point the International Banknote Society Congress in London was the only standalone paper money bourse in the world. The 1980s brought rapid expansion to his business, with new shows in Europe and North America.

In London, Phillips auction house began holding regular banknote auctions and he worked with them for several years. He later joined DNW, now Noonans, to help launch our banknote department. We held our first paper money auction in 2006 and Michael remains a key member of our banknote team.
