D.C.M., London Gazette, 27 September, 1901 (Army Order 15/02). Private Horsley was wounded at the battle of Paardeberg on 18 February 1900, and was mentioned in Lord Roberts' subsequent despatch of 31 March 1900. The Regiment won 17 D.C.M's in the Boer War, including 4 to the Mounted Infantry and 3 to Militia.
