24 officers of the West Riding Regiment received the Territorial Force War Medal (This information kindly provided by Geoffrey Whitehead). The following extract is taken from the Regimental History for October 1916: 'On first getting into the trenches to the right of Lesboeufs, the 'Dukes' were chiefly occupied clearing wounded left over by other regiments. Casualties from being shelled or from snipers began with 2nd Lieuts. Braine, Simkins and Beard being killed and 2nd Lieut. F.C. Glover and 70 other ranks wounded.'
Sold with further information including confirmation that Glover went into action with the 2nd battalion on 1 July 1916.
