Alexander Coleman was born in St. Mary’s, Oldham and enlisted at Manchester. Serving with the 1st Battalion Royal Lancaster Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 9 September 1914. He was buried in the Porte-de-Paris Cemetery, Cambai.
Robert Brooks was born in Ramsbottom, Lancashire and living in Bury, enlisted at Ramsbottom. Serving with the 1st Battalion East Lancashire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 18 October 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
