Buttons, Royal Artillery and Royal Irish Artillery, a very rare officer’s gilt convex open back showing the usual Ordnance shield c1790-1810 but with a ‘3’ above the shield, no back mark, possibly worn by the 3rd Battalion RA but a similar type also used by some HEIC units (Litchfield r3) vgc; Royal Irish Artillery, on a separate establishment until 1801, an excavated example of (Litchfield r4) displaying the crown over the Harp & Maid over a cannon, around the edge ‘Royal Irish Artillery’ would appear to be gilded pewter shank replaced poor condition; a good excavated example of an other ranks brass (Litchfield r6) sunken shield of Ordnance with the crown Harp & Maid over a cannon in pale, no back mark, original shank requires careful cleaning, (3) £80-120
