John Shields Priestly was posted to No. 101 Squadron in February 1943. Flying in Lancaster bombers as Wireless Operator he successfully completed 13 missions against targets in Germany, France and Italy. He was reported missing during operations on the night of 27 March, 1942, his log book being annotated 'Death Presumed'.
