William Patrick Miles, who was born in Guildford, Surrey, and first entered the French theatre of war in early November 1914, was killed in action at Aubers Ridge on 14 January 1915, while serving in the 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade. He is buried in Fauquissart Military cemetery, Laventie.
