Sundar Singh’s I.D.S.M. was awarded in respect of the Abor operations (G.G.O. No. 780 of August 1912 refers). Also mentioned in Major-General Bowers’ despatch dated 11 April 1912, he was awarded the O.B.I. in June 1913 and was granted the honorary rank of Captain prior to his retirement.

The Indian Army List for 1913 also shows entitlement to the Tibet medal with clasp for Gyantse.
