Loughnan entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 28 June 1917. Appointed a Temporary Captain in the R.A.M.C. on 14 May 1918. Medals despatched in 1928; home address listed on m.i.c. as ‘25 Birch Terrace, Hamley, Stoke-on-Trent’. Papal medal not confirmed.
