Sir (John William) Max Aitken (1910-85), 2nd Baronet, a fighter pilot during the Battle of Britain, commanded a night fighter squadron, 1941-42, and was a Group Captain commanding Strike Mosquito Wing, Norgegian Waters, 1943. latterly President of Express Newspapers Ltd.
Air Vice Marshal Donald Clifford Tyndall Bennett (1910-86), was the Air Officer Commanding the Pathfinder Force of the R.A.F. Bomber Command, 1939-45. With newspaper obituary.
Air Chief Marshal Sir Frederick Bowhill (1880-1960), was an officer in the Merchant Navy, 1896-1912 and in the Great War served in the R.F.C. (Naval Wing), R.N.A.S., and R.A.F. During W.W.2 he was Air Officer Commander-in-Chief, Coastal Command, 1937-41, and Air Officer Commanding Transport Command, 1943-45.
