Douglas George Jeffrey, Sub-Lieutenant, R.N.R., April 1912; Lieutenant, December 1914; Lieutenant-Commander, December 1918. Awarded the D.S.O. (London Gazette 17 November 1917). Post-war he served on the Shackleton-Rowett Expedition, 1921-22, aboard the Quest, the members of which appear not to have qualified for the Polar Medal. During the Second World War he served with the Royal Navy and Royal Canadian Navy, commanding a number of vessels including the Q-Ships Chagford, Arvonian and Pangloss. In later life he was the Conservative Party Agent for Sir Alec Douglas-Home and was awarded the M.B.E. for his political service. With copied research.
