Walter L. Allison was born in Oughterside, Cumberland, c.1882. As an Acting Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant in Lovat’s Scouts, he entered the Balkan theatre of war on 26 September 1915. He received a commission in Lovat’s Scouts on 29 May 1917. Lieutenant Allison relinquished his commission whilst retaining his rank, on 20 September 1921 (London Gazette 6 December 1921). He was later on the Canadian General List. With some copied research.
