The Order of St. John of Jerusalem, an early badge of an Honorary Associate, in silver with maker’s mark ‘AP’, in its Phillips Bros. & Son fitted case of issue, extremely fine and rare
Phillips Bros. and Son of Cockspur Street, London, were the official manufacturers of insignia to the Order from 1867 until 1895, when Carringtons took over. This badge is not to be confused with the later so called ‘economy’ badge for Officers which was issued in plain silver between 1926-36.
