Sgt. (Pilot) Alexander Winton Robertson was killed on 22 November, 1942, whilst piloting a Wellington bomber which was returning from a night raid on Stuttgart. He was aged 26 and is buried in Chalandry Churchyard, France. The lot includes an original Air Ministry letter to his parents informing them where he is buried, and ‘The Gospel of St. John’, Active Service edition, signed by Sergeant Robertson.
