D.C.M. London Gazette 14 November 1916 ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He tended wounded under very heavy fire displaying great gallantry and determination. (Sannayat, Mespotamia, 6-12 April 1916).’
William Walker served in France and Flanders with the 1st Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders from 12 October 1914, transferring some time later to the Royal Engineers. Sold with copy m.i.c.
