James Lewis Mott was born in and enlisted at Northampton. Serving with the 8th Battalion Machine Gun Corps (Infantry), he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 28 May 1918. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial. He was the son of Mrs Sarah Mott, of 15 Lower Harding Street, Northampton. With original forwarding slip for the British War and Victory Medals and with copied casualty details.
