Morris, who was born in December 1894 and an ex-Army coppersmith, transferred to the Royal Flying Corps as an Air Mechanic 2nd Class in September 1916 and served out in France as a Corporal Mechanic from June 1918. He was demobilised in April 1919; accompanying research refers.
