Ralph Taylor served in 88th Battery, Royal Field Artillery in the Boer War and first entered the French theatre of war as a Bombardier in Q Battery, Royal Horse Artillery on 11 November 1914 - although his
MIC entry states ‘ineligible for 14 clasp’. Subsequently awarded the M.M., most probably for the Somme offensive; he received his L.S. & G.C. Medal in AO 125 of April 1917; sold with copied Medal & clasp roll confirmation.
