One of his sons, Henry Forbes Julian, born in 1861, was to become a respected metallurgical engineer, working abroad on many projects and in many countries, and in that capacity was travelling First Class on the Titanic (on a £26 ticket, in cabin E60). His body was never recovered, but his memorial in the church of St. Mary Magdalene, Upton, Torquay, states “He was amongst those who gave their lives for others in the disaster which befell the RMS TITANIC”
