Waterloo 1815 (Edward Bailley, 18th Regiment Hussars) fitted with original steel clip and ring suspension, small edge nick and minor bruising, otherwise nearly very fine £1800-2200
Edward Bailley was born in the Parish of Rybury, Berkshire, in 1796, and enlisted into the 18th Hussars on 28 September 1814. He was discharged on 24 October 1816, in consequence of ‘being blind from gunshot wound received in action at Waterloo on the 18th June 1815’, at which action he served in Captain Richard Ellis’ company. He was admitted to a pension at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, on 11 November 1817. Sold with copied discharge papers.
