Edward Redman was born in St. Pancras, Middlesex and enlisted at Holloway, serving initially in the Royal Field Artillery. Transferring to the 9th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders, he was awarded the M.M. for bravery in the field. With the same battalion he was killed in action on 24 April 1918, aged 24 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. He was the son of Edward Frederick and Eliza Martha Redman of 33 Daws Lane, Mill Hill, London.
