Cornelius van Hall, Manager of the Amsterdamsche Arrondisements Rechtbank. Signed medallic work by Samuel Cohen Elion (1815-80), the coin collector and father of the prodigious Dutch medallist Jacques Elion, is seldom met with.

The medals of Prince William’s coming-of-age by van der Kellen and de Vries show a remarkable disparagement in style and treatment of the subject’s features; de Vries’ portrait was drawn from life.
