Harold Cordyn Brown was born in Gladstone, Michigan, U.S.A., on 10 October 1898. Living in Vancouver and employed as a student, he enlisted into 68th Battery, Canadian Field Artillery, in December 1916. Arriving in England in June 1917, he was posted to France as a Signaller in 40th Battery, 10th Brigade, C.F.A., in August 1918. Awarded the M.M., he was discharged in April 1919; sold with copied service papers.
