Alexander Forrester Hardie was born in Dundee, Scotland, on 22 July 1886. A Horseman by occupation and a former member of the New York Guard, he enlisted in the Canadian Engineers at Toronto in July 1918. Arriving in England in August 1918, he remained there for the final months of the War and was invalided to Canada in March 1919, where he was discharged as medically unfit (suffering from T.B.) at Toronto in April 1919. Despite this infirmity, his death did not occur until April 1968; sold with copied service papers.
