George Stewart Cuttle was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba, on 5 September 1887. A Clerk by occupation, he enlisted in the 184th Battalion at Winnipeg in February 1916, but was transferred to the 11th Battalion on his arrival in England that November. Then in April 1917, he was allocated to the 107th Battalion out in France, where he later served with the 3rd Divisional Employment Company, and it was in this latter capacity that he was awarded the M.S.M. ‘for valuable service’ (London Gazette 18 January 1919 refers). Discharged in March 1919, he was an early member of the Canukeena Club, and served as its President in 1930-31. He died in May 1933.

Sold with the recipient’s original Discharge Certificate, a postcard photograph of him in uniform, and a newspaper obituary cutting, with photograph, together with copied service papers.
