David John Morris, who was born in Swansea in March 1881, enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers in January 1915, and first went out to France with the 2nd Battalion that March. Subsequently transferring to the Lincolnshire Regiment, he was discharged on account of sickness in August 1917. Finding employment in the Mercantile Marine after the Great War, he served as Chief Bosun of the tanker San Ubaldo off June Beach, Normandy, in June 1944; sold with brief details.
