Provenance: Glendining, June 1908.

Thomas James was born in Birmingham and enlisted into the 30th Foot on 30 September 1813, aged 15 years. He was present at Waterloo in Captain Hawe’s Company. The 32nd moved to Canada in 1830 and Thomas James died there on 24 September 1835, ‘accidentally killed by a fall from a ladder in the barrack square at Montreal’.
