Benjamin E. Bryan joined the Royal Marines in October 1999. After passing for duty with the Royal Marines he went on to join 45 Commando Royal Marines. In 2002 he saw operational service in Afghanistan taking part in Operation Jacana. During late 2002/early 2003 he served in Operation Fresco - being employed as emergency fire fighting cover in the Merseyside area during a national fire strike. Late in 2003 he was deployed in Northern Ireland during Operation Banner, being employed as Company Clerk. In 2006, with 3 Commando Brigade, he served in Norway on Arctic Warfare Training. Marine Bryan left the Royal Marines in November 2008.
