Patrick McMahon was born in Limerick. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the Royal Munster Fusiliers at Limerick on 5 January 1889, aged 19 years. After being transferred to the Army Reserve in January 1897, he was recalled in December 1899 and served in South Africa. Serving with the 3rd Battalion, he was accidentally slightly wounded at Modder River, 19 October 1901. With copied service papers and roll extracts - indicating service with the 1st Battalion. He died as a Chelsea Pensioner on 14 December 1946.
