Seven: Sergeant C. Jackson, Royal Army Medical Corps
General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Palestine (7261117 Pte., R.A.M.C.) official correction to naming; 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; France and Germany Star; Defence and War Medals; St. John Service Medal, cupro-nickel, unnamed as issued, together with St. John Ambulance Association medal (A136612 Cyril Jackson) with 11 additional dated bars 1951 to 1961, and Dunkirk Association medal, good very fine (9)
The lot is sold with the recipient’s red beret with Parachute wings, Red Cross armband, and a coloured photograph of him in uniform, the reverse with the following note: ‘Sgt C. Jackson, R.A.M.C., ex Dunkirk, Western Desert, jumped at Arnhem & taken P.O.W., marched to prison camp in Silesia. Released by Russians, walked to Odessa and then re-patriated. Died 1988. Cremated in Salisbury.’
