William Abbott was born in Marylebone, Middlesex, lived in Sandgate, Kent and enlisted at Brighton. Serving in the 2nd Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers, he was killed in action on 21 December 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial. He was mentioned in despatches in the London Gazette of 22 May 1915. With copied casualty details.
