A 19th century polished solid mahogany coin cabinet, 33 x 29 x 34cm, comprising 19 [of 20] trays uniformly double-pierced to house a total of 540 Halfcrown-sized coins, brass pulls and brass identity tags, double inlaid doors with brass surround for label, lock (no key), brass carrying handles at sides. Trays in need of some easing and lacking many felts, otherwise a very fine cabinet with an excellent provenance £200-400

Not suitable for shipping. Sold with an ALS from Robert Carson, 16 October 1954, stating “Mr K.A. Howes is authorised to remove from the British Museum one second-hand coin cabinet”
