Raised in September 1803 by Lieut-Colonel Commandant Miles Peter Andrews and Lieut-Colonel Sir Walter Stirling, Bart. Charles Drummond was the senior Captain. As London based volunteers were not converted to Local Militia in 1808, the unit continued serving until about 1815.
