Charles Bennett was born in Bradford, and served during the Great War with the 9th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment in the Gallipoli theatre of war, from 26 October 1915. He was killed in action serving with the Battalion on the Western Front, 27 August 1917, and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
Walton Curtis was born in Selby, Yorkshire, and served during the Great War with the 9th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment in the Gallipoli theatre of war, from 11 July 1915. He was discharged due to wounds, 21 June 1916, having received a gunshot wound to the head and neck the previous year.
