Richard Daglish was a native of Washington Station, County Durham. He served during the Great War with the 7th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment on the Western Front. He was killed in action, 10 August 1916, when on the latter date the Battalion as part of the 49th (West Riding) Division moved from the South Bluff to the front line of the Somme. Daglish is buried in the Quarry Cemetery, Montauban, Somme, France.
