George Ware was entitled to a Q.S.A. with ‘Transvaal’, ‘South Africa 1901’ and ‘South Africa 1902’ clasps only.

Richard Emmerson was born in Bishop Auckland, Durham, and attested for the Yorkshire Regiment at Richmond, Yorkshire, in December 1888. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Second Boer War, 24 November 1899 - 20 February 1901, and was discharged ‘Medically Unfit’ 30 November 1901.
