Henry Patterson of Ashington, Northumberland, was born in 1895 and joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. He served with the Nelson Battalion, Royal Naval Division, during the Great War, and died on 10 November 1916. He is buried in Knightsbridge Cemetery, Mesnil, France.

Sold together with the recipient’s card identity tag; ‘Nelson’ shoulder title; Royal Navy belt and bib; Buckingham Palace enclosure for the Memorial Plaque; named Admiralty enclosure for the British War and Victory Medals; Imperial War Graves Commission letter; communication regarding the recipient’s Will; and a portrait postcard of the recipient.
