Horse Grenadier Guards Guidon c. 1760, a remarkable survivor of the mid-18th century, the crimson silk ground richly embroidered with a crowned GR cypher and the Union device of the English rose and Scottish thistle, an ornate scroll ‘Dieu Et Mon Droit’, below the scroll three depictions of St. Edward’s crown, now contained in a very fine glazed frame this with attached brass plaque ‘Horse Grenadier Guards Troop Standard c. 1760 ex. Windsor Castle’, the head of the rose missing from the Union spray and with considerable damage to the silk ground £2000-3000
