The Worcestershire Regiment Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1890-1902, a fine quality example, the skull complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate of crowned eight pointed star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black velvet a narrow silver star with gilt and silver overlays, a silver scroll at the bottom ‘The Worcestershire Regiment’, buff leather sweat band with crimson silk lining and retailer’s details ‘Hawkes & Co., London’, the plate original to the helmet, together with its japanned metal carrying tin this with brass plaque ‘W.A.Bowen Esq., Worcester Regt.’ together with copy details of Lieut. Colonel Bowen’s Army Service, the front peak with some moth damage and a similar moth nip near the back panels otherwise very fine condition £500-600
