Birks Memorial Bar ‘Lt. H. G. Sheely Warwick Died in his Country’s Service 8 July 1944’, extremely fine £80-120
Henry Grattan Sheely, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, was commissioned in the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps and served during the Second World War as a Canadian Loan Officer on exchange to the Warwickshire Regiment. He took part in the Normandy landings with the 1st/7th Battalion, and died on 8 July 1944. He is buried in Hermanville War Cemetery, Normandy, France.
