Only 75 clasps for Poona issued to European recipients, including 8 officers and 34 other ranks of the 65th Foot.
William Andros was appointed Ensign in the 65th Foot on 24 September 1812; Lieutenant, 13 May 1814; Captain, 16 June 1825; half-pay, 10 August 1832. Captain Andros served with the 65th in the campaigns of 1814 and 15 in Guzerat and Kutch, and was present at the capture of the Forts of Joosin, Anjar Khuncoote, Dhingee, and Dwarka. Served also throughout the Mahratta campaigns of 1816, 17, and 18, including the battle before and subsequent capture of Poonah, and the affair of Ashtee.
