Provenance: From the Reigate Brokes Road (Surrey) Hoard, 1990; Glendining Auction, 8 December 1992, lot unknown; SNC April 1994 (2165) and p.106
The last surviving mint account for Calais covers the period December 1439 to April 1441, during which only a small amount of silver was struck, presumably including the present coin. Although the Calais mint continues to be mentioned in documents for a number of years, no more accounts are known and no coins exist which could be attributed to the period after c. 1440
