Eight: Corporal W. H. Clark, Dorset Regiment, later Gloucestershire Regiment

W. H. Clark attested for the Dorset Regiment in 1935, and served with the 2nd Battalion in Palestine from 10 June to 20 December 1936. He subsequently served during the Second World War in North Africa, Italy, and north-west Europe post D-Day. He served with the Gloucestershire Regiment in Korea, before returning to the U.K. where he took up the post of Corporal Instructor at an Army Cadet Force Christmas Holiday Camp held at the School of Infantry, Warminster. The following year he joined ‘B’ Company, Gloucestershire Regiment following his time as permanent instructional staff (Back Badge, Summer 1953 refers).
