Lashman Dass was born on 16 January 1887 and graduated from Veterinary College on 21 April 1913. He served during the Great War in France and Egypt from 14 December 1914 to 7 July 1918, and joined the Indian Army Veterinary Corps on 23 April 1919. Posted initially to the Depot of the 2nd Lancers, he served in Waziristan from 1919-22, transferring for service with the 64th Mule Corps in 1921. He was advanced Jemadar on 1 February 1929 and served during operations on the North West Frontier of India in 1937. He was promoted Risaldar Class II on 14 March 1942, in which year he was also awarded the Order of British India 2nd Class. His final posting was at the Mobile Veterinary Hospital at Abbottabad in 1943.
Fazal Ali Khan was born on 19 May 1890 and graduated from Veterinary College on 12 April 1916. He served during the Great War with the 33rd Light Cavalry in Mesopotamia, and joined the Indian Army Veterinary Corps on 2 July 1918. He was promoted Risaldar on 27 February 1939 and served during the Second World War with the Remount Department at Ahmednaggar, and in 1943 was awarded the Order of British India 1st Class.
