Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Badajoz (Wm. Barker, 95th. Foot.) edge bruising, very fine £700-900

William Barker was born in Ryton, Staffordshire, in 1786 and attested for the 95th Foot on 1 April 1809. He served with the Rifles in the Expedition to Walcherin in 1809 and subsequently in the Peninsula, where he was present at the siege and capture of Badajoz, 16 March to 6 April 1812. He was discharged due to impaired vision on 10 August 1812, after 3 years and 132 days’ service. He died in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, in 1863.
