William Scott was born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the 1st Battalion, South Wales Borderers. He served during the Great War on the Western Front attached to the 13th Battalion, Welsh Regiment, and died of wounds on 8 October 1918. He is buried in Bellicourt British Cemetery, France.

Sold with a small amount of research including photographs of Bellicourt Cemetery and the recipient’s grave stone.
