Percy James Higgins enlisted during the Great War as a Rifleman in the 21st (Yeoman Rifles) Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps, later transferring to the 16th battalion K.R.R.C. He was discharged on account of wounds on 2 October 1918 at the age of 24 and was awarded a Silver War Badge. He later worked as a Postal and Telegraph Officer in the London Postal Region and was awarded his Imperial Service Medal in 1953 (London Gazette 30 June 1953).

Arthur Jackson served in the Great War with both the Royal Engineers and the 21st (Yeoman Rifles) Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps. He was admitted to No. 2 General Hospital on 17 September 1916 with a gunshot wound to his right arm after completing five months with the Field Force.

Sidney Charles Clough was born in Malton, Yorkshire in 1890. He was a bootmaker by trade and served in the Great War with the 21st (Yeoman Rifles) Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps. He died in 1925.

Charles Lloyd Wheldon was born in Hull, Yorkshire in 1885 and resided at 12 Albert Terrace, Hull. He was employed as a clerk to a shipping company. He saw service with the Army Service Corps after his time with the 21st (Yeoman Rifles) Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps in the Great War. He died in Yorkshire in 1961, aged 76.
