Godfrey Otto Bernard Marc was born in January 1914, and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, in October 1940 (having served in the ranks for 1 year and 47 days). He served as Acting Major, July - October 1942, and as Temporary Major, October 1942 - February 1944, and March 1944 - October 1945. Marc was promoted Major in January 1950, and served as Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel from April 1951. He retired in May 1959.
