G.G.) engraved naming; Army L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R., 1st issue, Regular Army (2605780 W.O. Cl. II. V. H. S. Martin. G. Gds.); Efficiency Medal, G.VI.R., 1st issue, Territorial, with Second Award Bar (Capt. Q.M. V. H. S. Martin. H.A.C.) on Honourable Artillery Company riband, mounted as originally worn, very fine (6) £360-£400

Vernon Harry Scott Martin initially served as a Regimental Quarter Master Sergeant with the 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards. He was subsequently commissioned into the Honourable Artillery Company, and advanced to Captain Quarter Master in November 1947. Martin was promoted Major Quarter Master in March 1949.
