Provenance: Bt. 1977
Louis Winkler (1849-1929) arrived in Jamaica in 1881 and earned a living repairing and tuning keyboards. In 1884 he opened the islands first music shop. In 1908 he was joined in the business by his son Lewis B. Winkler (1889-1955). The checks were manufactured by Quints &* Sons, Philadelphia, PA and were used between 1908 and 1920.
